Welcome to

Morningstar Farm

A small family farm in the southern Ozarks, raising Shetland sheep, Nigerian Dwarf goats, chickens, and more!

Our Shetland flock has seen some changes over the past year. Of all the sheep we currently have, only one has been here from almost the beginning—Brae, who was born right here on the farm. She’s now joined by three other ewes, including a new addition this year, Amelia, who happens to be Brae’s half sister. We’re hopeful that all four ewes will be lambing in the next couple of months, which makes this a very exciting season of waiting and watching.

We have four Nigerian Dwarf does at this time. Maribel, Noel, Star, and Ginger. Maribel and Star are currently due in March and both are carrying twins!

Nigerian Goats

Sam (left) and Toby (both in the picture below) were born on January 22, 2024 and came to the farm as bottle babies at the age of 5 days. Toby is now Sam's buddy and Sam is busy passing on his genetics. It remains to be seen what combinations will be successful! No matter what the babies will be pretty!

That's Ginger on the post up there. I didn't catch her quickly enough but she was perched very prettily up there!

Star

We have Dominque chickens - this is our beautiful rooster.

Flora

Red

Flora is a Border Collie, Red is a Lab, and Bo is a...chaos coordinator! They are all absolutely ecstatic when we have guests!

Our silly guineas!

Our goal is to be self-sustaining and build a healthier lifestyle for our family.
